Happy Halloween!

Another fun Halloween!  Can I just say how awesome our neighborhood is???  Kids EVERYWHERE on Halloween.  I love seeing familiar faces of children and parents from the kids' school.  I especially love sunny Halloweens, even if they are chilly.

The day started out chilly but manageable in our regular costumes:
Dumbo, Birdo, Black Widow, and Katniss Everdeen

With our neighbors, who we trick-or-treat with every year!
(Julia was my fave villian, Bellatrix LaStrange from Harry Potter)

Our neighbor, Tim, and his wife go ALL OUT for Halloween with decorations.  The kids were a bit nervous at his door.  He was dressed up and just stood inside at the door and didn't move.  Even when the kids knocked.  Finally, one brave soul dared to open the door.

Our neighborhood before it got crowded and busy
Spencer dancing.  I love this kid!!!
Katie and I went on a little further with one of her classmates we ran into while trick-or-treating.  We ventured to her street where there was this little outdoor haunted trail.  The kids inside creeped me out!!!  This house handed out candy, popcorn, and beer (to adults only, of course).

Everyone relaxing after trunk-or-treat and getting warm
This is how the Salkas and Henderson family tend to pair off (kinda hoping they have a boy for Charlie to chill with)

This isn't even all the candy!  HOLY CRAP!

Halloween Party at GP

I volunteered to help at Katie's classroom's Halloween Party.

Every year they do a costume Parade outside around the school.

Nate, Katie, Grace, and Becca.                                                        Delaney turned around and
                                                                                                          pretended to shoot me.  Great
timing for my camera to work!

Then for the party, there were 2 crafts, snacks, and a game.

Here is Katie's whole class dressed up for the holiday

Here is Kate with her new friend, Grace

And two of her fave friends, Alex and Nate
And, even though I didn't get to spend time with Delaney and her classmates, I loved how much she played the part of her costume!

Post-Season Celebrations

Delaney and Kate both finished up their second seasons in softball and soccer, respectively.  They have both improved so much and are continuing to learn.  I love watching both play, but I will admit, I'm one of those parents that gets a little caught up in the excitment of the games.  You'll often find me biting my nails or standing up and yelling and cheering.  I'm so proud of them both!  Katie even scored a goal for her team this year!

After their final games, their coaches had an awards lunch/dinner for all the girls

Finally giving Coach Josh a shirt that will fit.

 Receiving her certificate and trophy
"The Blond Tornados"  This is Katie with Sophia...they tended to play forward together and became a pretty good team.

Pumpkin Carving!

We waited almost too long to get our pumpkins this year!  After a very busy weekend of Halloween Parties, Pumpkin Patches, Races, and Sports Celebrations...we picked up 3 pumpkins and did our carving.
