The Childrens' Museum

During Brian's visit, I had so many things I wanted us to do...and we only were able to do one (bowling)! The day we had planned for the zoo, it was POURING out...so instead we headed to Naperville to the Children's Museum. You can tell by Brian's facial expression in one of the pics--he was NOT a fan! There was quite a bit for the girls to enjoy, but I'm not sure it was really worth the price. Thankfully the girls had a blast, but we didn't last too long-as our hunger grew, and there's no food court/service there, and because of the rain and the fact I had to be to class, we left around 1, had lunch at Applebee's (Delaney and Katie's fave restaurant), and headed home.

Family In Iowa

We headed back to Iowa on October 10th for Grandma Hayes' funeral. The nice thing was seeing everyone again. Nana, Uncle Joe, and Uncle Dan were both there, as were other relatives that the girls hadn't met yet...such as Nancy's brother (Mike) and his family. We got into town around 12:30am on Saturday, and the girls were WIRED so they hung out with the uncles and played for a while. On Saturday morning we went to the funeral and the girls behaved SOOOOO well-everyone was impressed! They went up to Great Grandma Hayes, said their prayers and goodbye. After the mass, we enjoyed a luncheon, then went to GGHayes' house to enjoy some family time, then to Snell park. We left after a big, yummy brunch on Sunday morning.

Okay, So I Lied...

I've been bad. I said I'd update on the 19th, and here it is...a week later, with no pics or posts. I do have a legit excuse, however, I swear. My memory card wasn't working in our drive anymore, so we finally went out and bought some new thing that is allowing it to work! Yea! After I got it, I uploaded all my pics from October so far onto shutterfly-and so far have 389! Not bad, huh? Don't worry-I won't make you look through them all. But I will post some on here from our second trip to Iowa to say "Good Bye" to Grandma Hayes (may she rest in peace and without pain), our visit with Uncle Brian, and pics of the girls in their Halloween costumes. I'll also have stories to share, as well as a couple videos.

On Monday we go for our 20 week ultrasound (although I'll be 22 1/2 weeks technically). At this time, we can find out the gender, but I highly dout we will. Also-around Thanksgiving/Christmas time we'll be sharing first name initials of the baby (w/o specifing what gender each letter is for). Just to drive you a bit more crazy...

Updates to come tonight

As I take a break from our crazy past 2 weeks, I am just too lazy, crampy, and tired to get up to get my memory card from the camera. However, after the girls go to bed tonight, I'll post some new pictures from Iowa and Uncle Brian's visit. Also-the girls have a new favorite bedtime story, and I'll be videotaping that tonight, and also posting that. It's great...and I have a feeling will stir some more rivalry among the Kridner-Henderson Uncles...ahahahah.

Katie got her Halloween costume, and Delaney's has been ordered. They're both super excited this year, as both chose what they wanted. A special "Thank You" to Uncle Brian for those (costumes).

So-check back later tonight

Bengston's Pumpkin Farm

Today we went to our annual visit to Bengston's Pumpkin Farm in Homer Glen. By far the best around!!! The girls are both finally big enough to enjoy all of the great attractions! They went on a few rides, fed the animals, watched pig races, rode on ponies, ventured into the fun house AND haunted house, enjoyed some food, and picked out small pumpkins (for their room). All in all...it was a BEAUTIFUL and very FUN day!

Our Trip to Iowa

The last weekend of September we went to Iowa to visit Nana, Great-Grandma Hayes, Great-Grandma Betty, and Great Aunt Karen. The girls enjoyed playing at Nana's new condo. Katie played with some old dolls of Nana's, while Delaney enjoyed chasing Boo. Both, as usual, enjoyed their tea party. Nana's condo is set back in some woods, and is so nice and relaxing. The girls got to enjoy seeing wild turkeys pass through the backwoods while sitting on the screen-porch. They also took a short walk to Nana's school to play at the park. After that we got in the car and drove to Fort Dodge to visit Great-Grandma Hayes. The girls gave her lots of hugs and kisses, and Katie serenaded her a couple of times. On the way to Fort Dodge, Delaney had to pee so bad, and because there's a whole bunch of nothing out there, we had to stop on the side of the highway, and she pee'd in the grass. I think that was the highlight on the trip for her! ahahah. She laughed so hard, and thought it was great that she was peeing like a dog! Saturday night, Delaney had a bit of an allergic reaction to Boo-and her eyes swelled shut. Poor thing. She looks fine now, but it took almost 48 hours for the swelling to be gone! On Sunday, Great-Grandma Betty and Great-Aunt Karen came from Mason City to visit us. We had a great lunch and wonderful visit. We miss you all already, and hope everyone is doing well. Thanks to our great hostess, as well as those who travelled to see us! LOVE YOU!

Updates coming

I have a bunch of pictures from our Iowa trip last weekend to post on here, and will have pictures from the Pumpkin Farm (that we're going to tomorrow). I'll get those posted along with some recaps of stuff within the next few days. We are very excited for a visit from Uncle Brian-whom we haven't seen in 14 months!!! YEA!!! I think I also might have some videos to post on here as well...I'll have to look.

Katie's Sense of Humor

Kate just really cracks us up sometimes. I wish I kept a list of all the things that girl does! I have to share these two things...

1. Tonight we were watching the Emmy's and in the beginning Howie Mandel and Jeff Probst were on the stage-with a few others. Katie looks at the TV and gets all excited and says, "oh, look, Uncle Joe and Uncle Jeff." ahahahaha

2. The girls have big sunglasses...because they're so trendy and they crack me up. With Katie's new bob cut and how white-blond her hair is, when she puts them on, all I can think of is Paris Hilton. So-I tried getting her to say "That's Hot!" but instead she said "That's Warm!" I mean-come on! That's not only hilarious, but pretty clever!

Don't get me wrong, Delaney cracks us up all the time too...she's quite hilarious. These things just happened with Kate within the past couple of days, and were a clear memory in my mind. I do need to start writing the things these girls do that crack us up...

Happy 5th Birthday to Griffin! (OMGosh!)

I can't believe our kids are getting so old! Today we went to Griffin (Brown)'s 5th birthday party at the Brunswick Zone...and the girls had their very first bowling experience. Delaney did great, and Kate did pretty well too. I think both could beat Uncle Wesley! The girls LOVED it! I think we're gonna go back when Uncle Brian is in town. Also-Henderson Clan...this would be something tres fun to do when you're in town for Christmas!
