This past week has been a whirlwind of events and travel. Currently we are in Iowa for the Hayes Family Reunion (Pete's mom's family). We planned on coming in on Friday night, but due to a huge accident on I-65 in Kentucky, we were delayed for a long time! There was an 8-car pile up, and we were at a complete stop. After an hour of absolutely nothing, we drove on the shoulder, and turned around on a grass median to drive south to get to some side roads. What was supposed to be an 8:30pm arrival at home ended up being a 12:30am arrival, which postponed our departure to Iowa to the next morning.
Iowa has been great--sadly (and of course) I have forgotten my card reader, so pictures will have to wait. However, the pool at Jim Hayes' home was so fun. Delaney was in for about 3 hours straight. After a wonderful BBQ and ice cream sundaes, lots of swimming, we headed back to Nana's house and dressed up for a very tasty meal at the University Athletic Club. There was an Irish band playing from about 7:30-10:30. So fun! Rowe's usual bedtime is 7:30...last night, she finally passed out around 10:30 when we finally left. All three of the girls danced the night away. I cannot tell you how many compliments we received--how well behaved, how cute, how friendly, etc. We were so proud, and laughed our butts off with them. I cannot wait to upload pictures and videos. So, stay tuned.
We'll leave for home today, then back to work for me tomorrow and Tuesday. And, back to the grindstone for homework, homework, homework. I am REALLY hoping to have all my first drafts done by Thursday, which gives me about 5 days for review and corrections. After July 28th...We'll all be able to slow down a bit. Oh wait, then we're leaving for a trip to Michigan.
