Bengston's Pumpkin Farm

Our annual tradition is to visit this AWESOME Pumpkin Farm with the girls. They have pony rides, petting zoo, train, and three other kiddie rides, a hay maze, corn maze, fun house, haunted house, animals galore, hay rides, pig races, great food, and a ton of pumpkins!

This year was GREAT! Last year we went during the week and I think only 3 other people were there...it was freezing, and we didn't have enough clothes with us. We stayed for about 15 minutes! This year, the weather was gorgeous and there was a great crowd.

The girls rode the ponys, fed animals at the petting zoo, rode the train, then had dinner. Then we went to the pig races, shopped for pumpkins, and got our annual picture taken.

They had a blast!

Plainfield Homecoming Parade

Well, Delaney has only been to one parade before this Saturday, and now she's in them! Delaney rode the float for her TI Cheer and had fun, although she was a little worried that we left her! :) This was Katie's first parade experience, and she loved it! She sat so good and watched everything, and really loved all the candy!

Busy, Fun Friday!

The girls had a great day in Park Forest today! After spending their weekly Thursday night at Grammie and Poppy's, the girls and I ventured to some parks in the neighborhood. I didn't have my camera with me....Boooo!, but we had fun. We went to three parks, and then to the AWESOME Park Forest Library (they have a kick-butt kid's section-which is almost bigger than our library in Joliet). Then we had to walk a 1/4 mile home (the walk there was okay, because we had three park stops). We went back to G&P's for some lunch and headed home.

The girls have been enjoying Lucy; the Boston Terrier that we're dog-sitting for Nichole and Ben while on vacation. So when we got home, the girls played with the dogs, and then we went outside to ride bikes and play with the neighbors. Then, about 10 minutes before it was time to go in...we pitched a tent outside for the kids to play in!

Some Summer Pictures

Well, the summer is now over, and the girls are busy with their fall activities. Delaney loves school (she took her Banjo-Kazooie for show-and-tell this week), dance, gymnastics, and cheerleading. She is also starting to talk about ice skating again. Busy girl, that Delaney. Katie would be too, if she were old enough. She can't wait to be in dance and cheerleading!

The girls have really enjoyed their summer. We went on a couple awesome trips...one to Minnesota and one to California. They enjoyed swim lessons, their kiddie pool, and the hot tub. They were usually found playing with the neighbors, Julia, Spencer, and Gwenie.

Craft Day chez Henderson

The girls were a bit disappointed we didn't go to the gym today...they love the play area there. So, to cheer them up, we did some craft projects. Delaney learned how to use the Sizzix machine, and we made stickers and little name mats for them, along with some sparkly crowns. Afterwards we enjoyed some pizza...Delaney ate SEVEN pieces, and then Kate quickly passed out in the lazy boy before it was even nap time!

Woo-Hoo for the Henderson Girls!!!

NO MORE DIAPERS!!!

After about 10 hours, and only 4 accidents...Kate is potty trained! We are SO excited to be diaper free. Keep in mind, that this just happened yesterday (Saturday). We started at 8:30 a.m., and she finally went on the potty chair at 6:30 p.m. She went again before bed...no accidents during her nap or during the night. Got up...hung out for a bit, and went on the potty. She's very proud of herself, and we are all making a huge deal of her successes!!!

We're sure that there may be more accidents, whether she's playing and doesn't think about it, has a nap or night time accident...but we're okay with that.

We are VERY proud of her...and are SOOOO happy to be DIAPER FREE!!!

Show and Tell

For Delaney's first full day at school on Tuesday the 11th, she was to participate in Show and Tell. She decided to bring her new Otter puppet that Uncle Brian bought her while at the aquarium in California.

She did wonderful... telling her classmates and teachers that Uncle Brian got her the puppet, that she saw them catch and eat fish, that she rode a train to get to California to visit Uncle Brian, and that it took a long time because Uncle Brian and California are 'far, far away.'

Kate's Sleeping Positions

When Delaney was younger, we would find her all over the place in the room during nap time...She loved sleeping on Darny (her big pink dog), on the floor, in the closet, and sometimes even in the drawer under her bed...Too cute.

Well, Kate is now in that phase...You gotta love the placement of her right hand...she looks like Zambrano on the mound! Ahahaha!!!

Delaney's First Day Of School

Delaney's first day at Kid's Connection! She was so excited...she had to take her backpack. It was only for 1/2 hour...like a meet-and-greet with the teachers and to get acclimated to the room and such. But...she loved it! On Tuesday, she has Show-and-Tell. I think, Uncle Joe, she might bring Banjo-Kazooie!!!
