Fun With Food

Whenever I make a "snack" dinner for the kids, I try to get creative in the presentation.  Why?  Because it's fun for all of us!
This time, I made a beach scene.  Ocean, Palm Tree, and Sun.

Checking Out The Sky & Moon

Delaney has really become interested in science lately.  She received a microscope for her birthday and a telescope for Christmas. She also wants a "Science" party and gave me a nice long list of supplies needed.

We finally got the telescope outside the other day after seeing a beautiful orange moon low in the sky.

Alphabet Scavenger Hunt

Today the kids had a day off of school, so we did a fun craft project.  We made alphabet crafts and then went on a scavenger hunt throughout the house to find things in our home that start with our initials.

A is for Alligator
C is for Catepillar
D is for Dog
K is for Kite
P is for Pasta (and purple)
R is for Rainbow

Whoa! Look Who's A BIG Boy Now!

Charlie has graduated to his big-boy bed.  He wasn't climbing out of his crib.  In fact, I think we held off on this move for so long because he is an AMAZING sleeper!  You just lay him down, say "Good Night" and that is it.  No crying, no banging, nothing.  We feared he would just play during naps, get into all the drawers, fight the process, etc.

Well, he did GREAT!  He went down for bed like a champ.  And even since, he continues to go to bed like a champ--both at nap and bedtimes.  You will rarely find him on the floor or the room messy.

A Day at the Museum

The Museum of Science & Industry was free every weekday during the month of January.  Awesome.  We LOVE this museum.  And, if you know the area, you can find parking for $10 or less (parking garage is crazy pricey).  So, today, we packed a lunch and headed to the city as soon as Delaney and Kate got on the bus.

They had a LOT of fun!  Having the double stroller is still a great asset for when we need to walk further distances and I want to keep them with me versus them both going in opposite directions because there is SO much to look at!  However, while we browsed, they both walked.  And held hands. And were super cute.

We went to our fave spots (as we do every time).  I think we need to go more often so we'll venture away from the same things.  However, you can't go wrong with farming, an interactive play area, and the storm systems.  Charlie was FREAKED out by the lightening (which is pretty loud).
