Our Little LumberJack

How cute is THIS guy????

Just shy of 21 months, and his 12 month jeans are still quite loose on him.  He saves me so much money and time since I haven't had to buy him clothes in over a year!

First Day of School: August 16th

As cliche as it is to say...I cannot believe that the summer is over!!!  We had such a fun summer; filled with cookouts, playdates, travelling, visits from friends and family, swimming, roller skating, bowling, and just hanging outside.

This was the first year it rained on the first day of school, so sadly our pictures were taken in the house and in the Ruch's garage instead of at the bus stop.  It put a slight damper on the mood, but, it also was so blah, that I didn't get emotional like I usually do.  As always, the girls picked out dresses to wear the first day.

Here are the girls lunches for the first day

Ready for the bus stop in their raingear
Awaiting the bus in the Ruch's garage with Spencer and Gwen
 Reese joined us too
Everyone had a GREAT first day!

Meet & Greet: Grand Prairie 2012-13

Today the girls went to school to drop off their school supplies and meet their teachers.

For 3rd Grade, Delaney will be taught by Ms. Staszak

For 2nd Grade, Katie will be taught by Ms. Palmer (who also happened to be Delaney's 2nd grade teacher and is Matthew (Katie's "boyfriend)'s mom.

Third Annual Back-To-School Slumber Party

Well, it's that time again...Yep! Another school year is just around the corner. That means it's also time for the annual Henderson Hosted Grand Prairie Back-To-School Slumber Party.
Last year we added Gwen to the tradition.  This year...three new members: 2 more neighbors-Reese (going into 1st grade) and Avery (going into Kindergarten), and Cassie, Katie's Bestie.
We started the fun outside sometime shortly after 4.  It was beautiful out but not hot enough for swimming.  Instead the girls started with a dance party on the back deck.

Then it was inside for some video games...

And Barbie playing...

Oooh, and don't forget make-up

And general goofy-ness

Time for some dinner (yeah, totally slacked this year and didn't do homemade pizzas)

Poor Rowe barely made it past dinner

But the kids liked having popsicles for dessert

And playing outside more

They were starting to get a little snippy about the rules of some made-up game, so I decided to switch gears:  CHALK art!

They had fun!

And then, the high school cheerleader in me came out...
They were SO patient with me to get the pyramid to work!
As it started to get dark, the kids were quick to clean up and get in their pj's to start the movie and have some popcorn.
And, it took a while for them to fall asleep.  Cassie was out around 9:30 or so.  The rest...it took a while. I think the ultimate winners: Spencer and Avery--our youngest for the evening.

The morning was full of waking up, playing, and DONUTS!!!
