Random Rowe

Here are some pictures that don't really fit with any of my posts, but I love and wanted to share.

Look at that face!  (This is with our neighbor's nephew sho is a few months younger than Rowe)
Rowe LOVED this apparatus at Charlie's hair salon!

Some little Rowe-isms...
  • When she wants something she'll ask for it with a "Please, I'll be your best friend."
  • She immitates Fozzi Bear "Wacca, Wacca."
  • She will tell you, "I love you and I like you" all the time.
  • When she's mad at you, you will know it by her calling you a "Stupie Head."
  • She still likes her "hot milk" in the morning along with "my shows. Dora, then Diego, then Blue's Clues."  Mind you, we watch one Dora and we're all done with TV for the morning.
  • She's pretty fearless.  She'll fall under water and come back up completely unphased, and continue to try to go deeper.
  • She breaks up fights by telling one of the culprits "You're a pain in the butt."
  • Her BFFs are Julia and Beth (according to her).
  • I'm pretty sure she's left-handed.
  • She can hit the ball off a tee pretty far.
  • She continues to be a good eater, but is getting a bit pickier (*insert sad face*)
  • She is probably our worst sleeper.  She tends to wake up the earliest and also will wake up a couple times a night, sometimes crying.

A Hot Day! Perfect for the Beach

What a WONDERFUL Memorial Day weekend! Of course, thank you to all the men and women who selflessly serve our country and sacrifice themselves, their lives, and their families for our continued freedom and safety.

It is HOT in Chicago!  Yesterday we hung around the house and played outside a lot, then headed over to my parents for my Mom's Birthday Dinner and some fun in the pool.  The girls enjoyed the pool with Poppy while I cooked for everyone and PJ chilled with Charlie.

Today we headed to Grandpa and Paula's for a wonderfully fun day.  We always have a great time there.  Since the boat isn't in the water yet, we spent the day between the beach, house, and fishing with a strong emphasis on beach time.  It was about 97, but thankfully it wasn't humid.  There was a slight breeze, but no clouds in the sky.

Here are pictures from our fun day.

It took no time at all for the kids to dive right into the fun sand toys and the cool water

Charlie doesn't remember the beach.  It took him a few minutes to realize he could play in the sand with the toys, but as soon as that was discovered, there was no stopping him.  Getting used to the water, or even him getting his toes wet, that took a bit more time.

YUM!  Fresh watermelon.  I think Charlie ate half the watermelon himself!  Boy was he a MESS!

We weren't very successful in the fishing department, but the kids still had fun trying.

Petting the new pet (everyone refused to cut him up for bait)
 Rowe loved her tiny pet

What a wonderful day!

Last Day of School

At the bus stop

Julia's last day of elementary school.  Good Luck in Middle School!

It's so hard to say GoodBye!  (for some of us anyway)

Everyone else seemed to be okay with summer starting!
