DanceQuest "Rockin' In The U.S.A." Dance Recital 2010

On June 12th, we spent most of our day at Plainfield North High School for Delaney and Katie's dance recital. They have been learning and practicing since January, and the time has finally come for them to show off their moves! They both did an AMAZING job! The recital was longer than we're used to. We've always been in the morning show, but this year we were switched to the afternoon. The dances were great, music was fun, and at the end, all the kids got to get up and dance after Miss Emily's amazing performance and the last bow. We were so proud of them!!!

Delaney and Katie...both in their ballet outfits, demonstrating the positions in ballet...Posted in order: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
Our lovely ballerinasKatie's "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" ballet group: Cloe, Katie, Cheyenne, Marissa, Kate, and SophieDelaney's ballet group: Delaney, Dani, and MaddyDelaney with one of her fave girls from jazz: Kendall (they were in tap together last year). Their jazz was the final performance of the show: "R-O-C-K in the U.S.A." There were 12 girls, 6 in red, 6 in blue.Delaney and Katie with Miss Emily--Director of DanceQuest and their dance instructorRowzo fell asleep...during Delaney's jazz performance. She kept fading, but would wake up after every dance to applaud! She woke up in a great mood about a half hour later.Delaney and Katie with NanaAdd in a little Rowe

After the recital, it began to storm. In fact a HUGE clap of thunder happened as soon as Peter opened the door to the school as we walked out. We went over to Sunny Delights for a tasty ice cream treat. Delaney just HAD to get whatever Nana got...which was a butterscotch dipped cone, Katie got her fave: Blue raspberry dipped cone, Rowena and I got twist cones, Poppy got a vanilla cone, and Peter and Grammie got mixers: peanut butter cup and health. Mmmmmm. It was pretty tasty! Rowena actually didn't need her own, as she continued to eat everyone else's!
I'm already looking forward to next year's recital!
